Goldman Sachs Head of Fixed Income Macro Strategies Simon Dangoor says he doesn’t think we’ll get a lot of information from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell during his speech at Jackson Hole on if the next move from the FOMC will be by 25 or 50 basis points. He adds that while the labor market data may not be pointing to the necessity of a 50 basis point cut, that he wouldn’t be surprised if policy-makers made a move of that size at an upcoming meeting given the high starting point of rates in this cutting cycle.
