STORYLINE:
An exhibition in the Iranian capital of Tehran takes visitors to historical sites in several Middle Eastern countries that are home to Iran’s regional allies.

The exhibition is called "the land of civilizations in the resistance axis," which is the term Iran uses to refer to its allied groups across the region.

It features replicas of sites and monuments in six countries including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

The show is held near Tehran’s iconic Milad Tower and will end on Friday.

What immediately catches the eyes of visitors is a huge replica of the golden Dome of Rock – Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site.

But the mood shifts dramatically as visitors turn to face a stark contrast: mock buildings reduced to rubble, mirroring the aftermath of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

Tehran resident Madineh Negah said the show gave her a chance to appreciate the suffering of the people in Gaza.

"One of my goals in visiting this show was to get a better sense of how the people of Gaza are feeling. I can’t do anything for them apart from praying," Negah added.
