STORYLINE:
The Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas, who in recent months gained notoriety for denouncing the graduation speech given by the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, are no strangers to social justice and voicing their beliefs.
For the past two decades the sisters have engaged in activist investing. Meaning they invest what little money they have into corporations that match their moral and religious ideals, but also into those who don’t in order to change what they say are the harmful policies of large corporations.
