"I just feel really honored that they will reach out to me. And, I was, I think it was a really good time for me, too, because I wanted to, it seemed like, something that could be fun, exciting, and also a little bit of a challenge because, to make something that’s positive and uplifting and a song that unites people, it could be harder than it seems and harder than you would think. And, it was a great team to do it with and execute that."

"Some songs, they’re like torture. But this one was really smooth considering, like I said, like Ryan (Tedder) can have like a really good structure and, the foundation of where the song could go. And sometimes having parameters where the song, you can do whatever you want, but ‘we want something like this. This is the message that we want to go with.’ And sometimes when I get in the studio, I just go freeform. Whatever comes out, it’s going to be hot, you know. And so this has some parameters. And you go in and I think sometimes that could be really cool exercise for artists, that was the only thing, just making sure that it was something everyone could listen to. "

"if people are using it for motivation, you know, like a soundtrack. You know, when I wake up, my mood changes when I hear the right song and I get in a better mood and I feel like, okay, I’m in the movie, I’m in this whatever this is simulation. Now I can, I can do it, you know? So hopefully this, you know, people throwing these athletes in particularly or anybody that has to perform or exceed expectations and execute. It’s it’s kind of an anthem in mood music for them. "

STORYLINE:
When Anderson .Paak was tapped for an Olympic-themed song, the Grammy winner felt eager to record the track until he hit an unexpected hurdle: The normally free-flowing artist had to work within a tight framework.
Paak embraced the process, seeing it as an opportunity to flex a new creative muscle.
It helped him while recording the upbeat joyous track “Hello World” with Gwen Stefani and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder.
"I just feel really honored that they will reach out to me," Paak said on Thursday before he performed “Hello World” for the first time at a Paris restaurant.
