Officers prepare themselves for one of the worst situations they could face in the line of duty: An active shooter at a Florida school when they are the only deputy there. Thankfully, this frightening scene is a drill for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. School resource officers who are assigned to campuses are taught "single-deputy response to active shooter incidents." Officials say they don’t have time to wait for back-up.
