“We probably would have already had 10,000 to 15,000 visitors in front of the stadium at 6 o’ clock (local time) in the morning today. This number would have swelled up during the day to 60,000 or 65,000 people, who would have been inside the stadium. In addition, we expected 20,000 to 30,000 onlookers outside. This is an incredible number of people who would have beleaguered the stadium today, tomorrow and on Friday. Insofar, I am very content with this decision despite everything. It was not a decision taken every day, but it was the right one for sure.”

4. SOUNDBITE (German) Ewald Tatar, concert organiser, Barracuda Music, spokesperson:
“In general, such a decision to cancel happens in close coordination with the management of course. This is pretty obvious. Insofar, a large part of that decision was made by the management of Taylor Swift. The question whether it was necessary to cancel the concerts, I can only answer with the facts which we have all heard and I can only say ‘yes.’”

STORYLINE:
A spokesperson for concert organisers, Barracuda Music, said the company was "content" with their decision to cancel three of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in the Austrian capital of Vienna this weekend after authorities foiled an apparent attack plot on the events.
After discussing the number of possible attendees, Ewald Tatar said, "I am very content with this decision despite everything. It was not a decision taken every day, but it was the right one for sure.”
He also confirmed the decision came in "close coordination" with Swift’s management team.
Austrian security officials said two young men wanted to commit an attack outside the stadium, killing as many people as possible using knives or self-made explosives.
The venue sat empty Thursday morning aside from media filming outside.
Swift and her team have not spoken publicly about the plot or canceled shows.
Her Instagram page re-posted the announcement from concert organiser Barracuda Music in a “story,” which is only visible for 24 hours.
Both suspects appeared to be inspired by the Islamic State group and al-Qaida, authorities said, and investigators found evidence of the militant groups’ propaganda and other material at their homes.
Officials did not release additional details but it did not appear that the duo was in contact or coordinating with the militant groups.
The main suspect, aged 19, had also posted an oath of allegiance online to the current leader of the Islamic State group, authorities said.
The suspects’ names were not released in line with Austrian privacy rules.
