In the midst of one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, a chess club for children is thriving in a refugee camp in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Its founders say the aim is to try and take the children’s minds away from what they’ve seen and experienced so far: fighting and killing, hunger and fear in a region devastated by conflict.
