Israel agrees to resume Gaza truce talks | DW News

Israel has confirmed it will send negotiators for Gaza peace talks next week to either Doha or Cairo. The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says it agreed to the talks at the request of international mediators. World leaders are pushing for talks to restart. Hamas has yet to respond. The recent assassination of a Hamas leader in Tehran — widely blamed on Israel — has raised tensions, and some fear the operation has hindered peace efforts. Hamas was behind the October 7 attacks on Israel and is regarded by multiple countries as a terrorist organization.
