STORYLINE:
Hundreds of Somali protesters gathered in Mogadishu on Friday to express their outrage at the recent killing of Ismail Haniyeh, a prominent Hamas political leader.
The demonstration included chants denouncing Israel and showing support for the Palestinian cause.
Protesters carried banners and signs with the slain Hamas leader.
Hamas said Haniyeh was killed in a strike Wednesday on a Tehran guesthouse where he was staying after attending the inauguration of Iran’s new president.
Israel has yet to claim or deny a role in the killing of Haniyeh, but Hamas and its allies say it was responsible.
