"Right about the time I go out the door, I got two city PD officers at the door telling me I needed to get out. And, well, I packed up what I could pack up in the car, me and the dog and I got out."

"We went through the Camp Fire as well, and we waited till the last minute to leave the Camp Fire. And we didn’t want that to happen this time. We’re safe now. And, you just want it to be over so we can go home."

23. Park Fire smoke plume
STORYLINE:
Scores of wildfires across the United States and Canada have scorched swaths of land in California, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Alberta and beyond, forcing evacuations and road closures, as well as destroying and threatening structures.
The Park Fire in Butte County, California, near the city of Chico has seared 257 square miles (666 square kilometers) and was considered completely uncontained Friday.
