He used to bombard civilians and used to bombard pregnant women. He used to demolish homes on the heads of their inhabitants. The shells and missiles that he hits us as if they are hitting mountains and rocks and not human beings."

The world is not ruling Israel but Israel is ruling the world."

STORYLINE:
Displaced Palestinians in central Gaza Strip expressed anger and surprise on Thursday over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s fiery speech to U.S. Congress.
Civilians who spoke to The AP said they were expecting him to declare a cease-fire, but on the contrary he vowed to continue the war in the Gaza Strip even as causalities continue to rise.
Zuheir, a Palestinian displaced from Gaza City, who didn’t give his last name said that he believed the Israeli military is not targeting Hamas members as Netanyahu claims, but civilians including thousands of women and children.
"How many did they kill (of Hamas militants)? They only kill civilians," he added.
Another civilian, Islam Zrei, echoed those remarks saying that "he (Netanyahu) is wiping out the Palestinian people."
Netanyahu pledged in a scathing speech to Congress on Wednesday to achieve “total victory” against Hamas and denounced American opponents of the war in Gaza as “idiots,” taking a combative stance in a visit the Biden administration has hoped will yield progress in negotiations to end the fighting.
Netanyahu used the high-profile address to a joint meeting of Congress to emphasize longstanding and close ties between the United States and Israel.
But the speech put in sharp relief the divisions in American society stirred by the war, with dozens of Democratic lawmakers boycotting the address and thousands of protesters outside the Capitol condemning the war and the humanitarian crisis created by it.
The war in Gaza, which was sparked by Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel, has killed more than 39,000 people, according to the territory’s Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between combatants and civilians in its count.
