But when you look at something this computerized, this interconnected, you know, I’ve worked in large companies that have large interconnected systems and an update or something that goes wrong, or can shut down the whole system for 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 hours till they get everything reverted and fixes in, and then it’s back up and running fine."

So, this morning, when I went to check in for the flight, we became aware that something was going on. There was news crews here and stuff, and they told us that, there have been a a worldwide breakdown of software, kind of not software, but a computer glitch or some type. And, and that thousands of flights were probably going to be delayed if not canceled. And that’s what happened. They canceled mine."

11. SOUNDBITE (English) Dale Young, Hopkinsville, Kentucky:
"Oh, golly. I’ll be in here about about 16 hours. Yeah, I know. I did get here quite a bit early, but my flight now is until 5:00 later this afternoon, so. It’s been a marathon."

13. SOUNDBITE (English) Dale Young, Hopkinsville, Kentucky:
"It is concerning because and I think, because that’s, this, this computer glitch that’s going on, they’re kind of all invested in the same kind of, you know, software and things like this. It seems like it goes down and takes everything with them, you know, so we’re kind of, it’s kind of concerning."
