STORYLINE:
In this season’s toy lineup, all eyes are on a captivating story-telling bear and the nostalgic return of the Tamagotchi, making them the most anticipated toys of the year.
At the recent annual Sweet Suite in New York, Toy Insider Editor-in-Chief Ali Mierzejewski spoke about the season’s hot toys.
“I think we’re seeing a return to tech toys this year. So, a lot of tech toys that’s using the tech intentionally, so it’s really integrated into the play. So more so than just having a toy that also goes along with the app. We’re seeing a real, bringing back of integrated technology that uses it in a really smooth and seamless way,” Mierzejewski said.
Poe, the A.I. Story Bear, lets children input different scenarios and situations into an app, which then creates and reads out unique stories based on their input.
Mierzejewski says there’s no cause for concern with the way the A.I is used.
Another comeback is the red furry guy.
“Chicken Dance Elmo is really great,” Mierzejewski said.
