“I am one of those people that cannot afford this. You have a daily income that you are living from and the aid from NGOs are gone down significantly in the camps and the displaced citizens here in these areas. There is no aid going in to them. From where is this person expected to live? Is he supposed to earn for himself or to come to private hospitals? They can’t afford it. I am one of those people who cannot afford this.”

“Currently, for last three months, there has been no support at all. The hospital has been serving the Harem area and the surrounding camps, approximately 300,000 people in the area. Before aid stopped, the hospital was serving 13,000 beneficiaries per month among the Emergency Department, Intensive care, ward admissions, CT scan, Lab tests. Currently we are now working at only 20 percent capacity of the hospital as a result of aid stopping and little services.”

“Currently there is a major problem with medical consumables and medicines. Currently, they cannot suffice for more than one month or two months at the maximum. And in addition, the staff is coming from far areas and they won’t be able to do volunteering work more than a month or two.”

“Unfortunately, since the beginning of 2024 and until now, support has stopped for 31 health facilities, including 14 hospitals. Almost all financial aid has stopped. Unfortunately, this large number of facilities with no financial support has created an a lot pressure on the health in the places where support has not stopped. This is leading to a decline in the quality of service, in addition to the enormous pressure on other health facilities.”

The truth is that the real and accurate number of patients affected by the cessation of facilities is more than one million people. 4 million people in northwestern Syria will suffer directly from the danger of this health service interruption.”
