West LA VA Groundbreaking for Buildings 158 & 210 on May 31, 2024

The Veterans Collective and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles along with federal, state, and local elected officials celebrated the groundbreaking of two new supportive housing developments that will provide a total of 87 new homes for veterans experiencing homelessness on the West Los Angeles VA North Campus.

The groundbreaking of Building 158, developed by Century Housing, will offer 49 homes, and Building 210, developed by U.S.VETS, will offer 38 homes primarily intended for women veterans, and represent the latest developments in the construction progress of the country’s largest supportive housing community for Veterans and families.

Among the speakers at the event included Kristina Olson, board chair, Century Housing; Brian D’Andrea, senior vice president, Century Housing; Steve Peck, CEO, U.S.VETS; Congressman Brad Sherman; Congressman Adam Schiff; Lindsey Sin, CalVet Secretary; Meg Kabat, Office of the VA secretary; and Babs Ludikhuize, veteran resident.
