3. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abdul-Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon:
"What is required from Hamas, as we have been told, is to show flexibility on certain points. As Hamas, since we are keen on our Palestinian people, we are keen on permanently stopping the aggression, ending this aggression, and stopping the massacres and the war of extermination and starvation that the Zionist enemy is practicing on our people."

5. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abdul-Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon:
"This point is related to clause 14 in the document, especially in the first phase, which states, in the Zionist paper, that the ceasefire will continue as long as the negotiations are ongoing. Well, (Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin) Netanyahu can halt the negotiations and thereby resume the aggression. We have always insisted on a permanent ceasefire, which is why we amended this text in the paper we submitted on June 11th last month, stating that negotiations must continue to achieve a permanent ceasefire."

7. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abdul-Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon:
"Now, we can be flexible regarding the timing, but we want something written to ensure the continuation of negotiations so that the ceasefire remains in effect in the first phase, leading to a permanent ceasefire. Netanyahu declares that he rejects any agreement that leads to a permanent ceasefire and says he wants an agreement that does not permanently cease fire. He wants to release his prisoners and then resume his aggression against our people. This is Netanyahu’s strategy."

9. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abdul-Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon:
"The basic principle is that we do not seek to rule Gaza alone. We do not want to repeat the previous experiences imposed by the circumstances at that time. We are part of the Palestinian people. Any government that is formed will be technocratic, not a political government."
10. Close of hand
11. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abdul-Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon:
"We continue to support our people in Gaza in coordination with Hezbollah. Now, if the war expands, the primary entity managing the defence against any Zionist aggression is Hezbollah. Certainly, everyone in Lebanon, under the banner of resistance, whether Lebanese or Palestinian, will be part of this defensive plan against the Zionist occupation."

13. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abdul-Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon:
"There was a meeting in China, under the custody of China, between Hamas and Fatah. We discussed all issues related to arranging the Palestinian house, the government issue, the elections issue, and other matters. We agreed on a paper containing a set of points that will be discussed in a subsequent expanded meeting involving the general secretaries of the factions. This national meeting was scheduled for the 24th of last month, but it was cancelled by the Chinese at the request of Abu Mazen (Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas). However, after discussions and pressure from the Chinese, there was an agreement to hold this meeting on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of this month in China."
