“I think our favourite part is just right here, by the Eiffel Tower. I think if you go around the city, I think this is the most iconic view of the city. And this morning we’ve been going to different places to take the photo with the Eiffel. But I think this is the most beautiful part, when you can take yourself on the river and go to the Eiffel.”

“You know, it’s the most beautiful avenue in Paris, I think. Our clients I think prefer to be together, like one family, friends, that’s it. They are more free, I think, than on big boats. So the experience is very unique if you are on a little boat than a big boat.”

“The Seine is really the start of the Olympics I would say for this summer. So we really love it. The competition, the opening ceremony on the Seine will probably be something very unusual and absolutely incredible. I think really that was the opportunity also with these games to create a legacy for the Seine, being able to swim in the Seine, because it has been a goal for everyone to work on it, to be sure that we do some competitions in the Seine and use it. But it’s also important for the Parisians and the tourists who can benefit from that afterwards.”

STORYLINE:
Many of Paris’s most famous landmarks can be seen from a whole new perspective from aboard a boat in the Seine river.

With the river playing such a focal part in the upcoming Olympic games, tourism on the river has been increasing.

A group from Thailand, celebrating four of their birthdays, opted for an exclusive boat trip with free-flowing Champagne.

Thanong Leelaprachskul takes in the view as the boat passes the Musée d’Orsay.

“I think our favourite part is just right here, by the Eiffel Tower. I think if you go around the city, I think this is the most iconic view of the city. And this morning we’ve been going to different places to take the photo with the Eiffel. But I think this is the most beautiful part, when you can take yourself on the river and go to the Eiffel,” he says.

Almost 37 million people visited Paris last year, according to the city’s tourist board.

The Seine is at the very heart of their experience, meandering for around eight miles through the city.

The wealth of historic monuments on its banks means it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991.

Sarah Benoliel is the owner of WeBoat and has been guiding tourists around the river for years.

“It’s the most beautiful avenue in Paris, I think,” she says.

This group has chartered a boat for a private cruise.

It’s a luxury experience, allowing them to sail wherever they wish, and stop and pause close to spots they find particularly beautiful.

For tourists on a tighter budget, the larger boats are a more affordable option.
