RESTRICTION SUMMARY: NO USE BY BBC PERSIAN, VOA PERSIAN, MANOTO TV, IRAN INTERNATIONAL
++The Associated Press is adhering to Iranian law that stipulates all media are banned from providing BBC Persian, VOA Persian, Manoto TV and Iran International any coverage from Iran, and under this law if any media violate this ban the Iranian authorities can immediately shut down that organisation in Tehran.++

"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers supporting Lebanon, its security, government, people and resistance a key principle. When necessary, Iran will not hesitate to support Lebanon and its security."

"It is expected that the U.S government bows in respect to the process of religious democracy in Iran and pays respect to the Iranian nation and their choice. Such politically motivated and meddling remarks are condemned and rejected by the Iranian government and the Iranian people."

STORYLINE:
Iran will not hesitate to support Lebanon if it’s attacked by Israel, a foreign ministry spokesman said on Monday.
The comments come amid conflict between the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon and Israel.
"When necessary, Iran will not hesitate to support Lebanon and its security," said Nasser Kanaani.
The relatively low-level conflict erupted shortly after the outbreak of the war in Gaza.
Hezbollah says it is striking Israel in solidarity with Hamas, another Iran-allied group that ignited the war in Gaza with its Oct. 7 attack into southern Israel.
The group’s leadership says it will stop its attacks once there is a cease-fire in Gaza, and that while it does not want war, it is ready for one.
Kanaani also condemned the reaction by the U.S to Iran’s recent presidential election, calling it politically motivated and meddling.
Responding to questions from The Associated Press, the U.S. State Department called the Iranian election “not free or fair” and noted that “a significant number of Iranians chose not to participate at all.”
