When Mohammad Amin Alsalami arrived in Berlin in October 2015 from Syria, he was cold, lonely and homesick.
Like millions of other migrants, he was in search of a place where he could build a future without bombs and violence. Almost a decade later, Alsalami, 29, has been granted asylum, learned German and made new friends. He learned just months ago that he got the green light to participate in the Paris Olympic Games.
