Two teen friends were lying on a blanket in Daytona Beach when they were struck. The Florida lifeguard who ran over them told cops he was on his way to get food when he accidentally ran over the teens. Rebecca Juarez’s daughter was one of the victims. She says her daughter suffered a contusion of her spinal cord and she had a brain bleed. Critics say lifeguards should not be driving around in large trucks. Many beach communities have switched to smaller ATV vehicles that are lower to the ground.
