In a speech outside Number 10 Downing Street Sunak apologised to the British public, and wished his opponent Sir Keir Starmer success as Prime Minister. Following his speech, Sunak began the journey to Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles III, where he was set to officially resign as Prime Minister.
