STORYLINE:
Outside Argentina’s Congress protests continue against the ‘Bases Law’ being discussed and soon to be voted on by the Chamber of Deputies.
The controversial fiscal package has been proposed by President Javier Milei.
“Mainly, this law will forgive big companies and the rich of their taxes, while adding income tax to lower-income workers. This law will result in more layoffs, more hunger, and more unemployment.” said one protestor Nahuel Orellana, leader of the Socialist workers movement.
His plan seeks to remove regulation, cut publish spending and increase privatisation.
Milei has fought for six months to pass his proposals.
