French President Emmanuel Macron is calling on voters to prevent the far right from winning a governing majority in next Sunday’s final round of snap parliamentary elections. Sunday’s first round saw Marine LePen’s far-right National Rally surge to victory with a third of the vote. Macron’s own centrist alliance came in third behind a coalition of leftist parties.
