Maxwell: “Oh, I like being in a show.”
Rocha: “It depends – I mean, if it’s a great performance then I’m like, ‘Why wasn’t I in this show?’ But sometimes you’re in a show and you’re like ‘Oh, this is same-old, same-old.”

15. SOUNDBITE (English) Viktor Horsting, designer, Viktor & Rolf:
“We have been here for 30 years and we always focus on the silhouette. This season, we were in the mood for something abstract and that made us think of a cube, a ball, say, a bit like building blocks, like blocks that a child plays with. And then we were imagining how to combine them with the human body, so that’s what you have just seen. And really it came from a desire to create something that is abstract because we think abstraction allows for a certain freedom. The viewer can let their mind wander and have their own associations and we felt strongly about that. Also, we wanted it to be kind of lighthearted so there’s a lot of color, a lot of prints, very bold prints, a lot of different textures, so it’s really like a feast for the eyes.”
STORYLINE:
“This season, we were in the mood for something abstract.” You can say that again!
Viktor & Rolf showed off a playful, absurdist collection at haute couture week in Paris Wednesday.
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have spent the last three decades brightening up the serious couture scene with humor and panache, with a particular focus on interesting silhouettes.
Geometric shapes inspired the creation of the new and abstract designs in their collection, including panniers, shoulder pads, collars, and necklines.
In the show, the models’ bodies intersected with three-dimensional, abstract geometric shapes like cubes, triangles, and spheres – building blocks drawn from constructivism and cubism.
The avant garde luxury fashion house was founded in 1993 by the Dutch design duo.
