STORYLINE:
Ukrainian football fans flocked to the German city of Dusseldorf on Friday ahead of a match between Slovakia and Ukraine in the European Championship games.

In the German city was an installation showing seats from the destroyed Sonyachny Stadium in Ukraine’s northern city of Kharkiv.

The stadium was destroyed by Russian troops in May 2022 and is part of an interactive installation highlighting that 500 sports infrastructure facilities in Ukraine have suffered Russian bombings and missile strikes during the war.

There was also a street festival of Ukrainian culture, where people and some Ukrainian soldiers enjoyed traditional food and music.
