7. SOUNDBITE (French) Etienne Thobois, Paris 2024 CEO: "It was clear to us that this incredible arena, the biggest indoor one in Europe had to play a central role in the organization of the Games. So even if it meant breaking out of the mold a little bit, we naturally thought that the swimming sports, the second most watched sport of the Games after Track and Field, had all the reasons to be present here and we started working on that."

"So you see there are two pools, one for competition and the other for warm-ups of the athletes. 15,000 seats in a shape of a U which will bring an incredible atmosphere. On top of this, the pools, which are modular, will be reused after the games and installed in the Seine-St-Denis region that has important needs in infrastructure, this was one of the main goals of the Paris 2024, to develop sport infrastructure in Seine-St-Denis region, so this is part of this effort."

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Etienne Thobois, Paris 2024 CEO:
"When you have an equipment like this, which is a fantastic arena, the biggest in Europe, closed arena in Europe, you start to think how can you magnify this facility and obviously swimming as one of the major sports in the Olympic and Paralympic games came as a normal choice. Obviously we had technical challenges so we did study that in relationship with our partner Myrtha Pool. Especially with respect with the legacy of those facilities, which we will be installing in Seine-Saint-Denis where people will be able to use these facilities as a legacy."
