Pope Francis presided over the Holy Mass in front of thousands of young faithful on Sunday in Vatican City, marking the occasion of the First World Children’s Day personally initiated by the Pope.
More than 50,000 people gathered in St. Peter’s Square. Among the guests were the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri
"The next World Children’s Day will be in September 2026," Pope Francis said at the end of the mass before greeting faithful.
