Hundreds of mourners attended funerals on Sunday for those killed in a deadly road accident in Muhammadwala, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, in the Kot Addu district of Pakistan the day before.

Relatives, neighbors, friends and others mourned as they gathered beside the bodies of the victims before taking them to burial in the Basti Adda Larr locality of the Multan District.

Officials said 11 people were killed in the accident, and two more died in the hospital.

On Saturday evening, a truck crashed into a passenger van in a village within the Kot Addu District of Pakistan.

Muhammad Arif Sahi, a friend of one of the victims, said "so far, 13 people are dead, and the injured are hospitalized."

The van was traveling from Multan to Bhakkar and included passengers belonging to the same family, who were going to visit relatives.

The injured were transported to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital in Chowk Sarwar Shaheed town to receive medical care.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan, where motorists often ignore traffic rules and safety standards on battered roads, particularly in rugged areas.
