"Beside this — having a prize like is always such a great help and distinction for the film, which is going to travel everywhere in cinema. So that’s a great to have this first spotlight in Cannes, which is to me, the temple of Cinema."

"I mean, like, I discovered such a bold, brave, you know, courageous actress, you know? And after I read her autobiography and I learned that she took so much, so many risks in her life, like, she really did things out of the box very early, you know, early from the time. So when I discovered this side of her that I didn’t really know before, I said, ‘OK, I think she, you know, she could do it.’ And, she did it like she really, you know, never let go. She went the full, you know, she went for the full journey. And I think to me, the great response that the film has tonight and during the festival also belongs to her. You know, she took all the risk and I’m so happy that this is the best reward tonight."

"I am very proud and very happy because it’s the whole group that won and I did this for the group of actresses that I directed."
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Miguel Gomes, director – on how he felt when he heard his name called as best director for ‘Grand Tour’:
"I am feeling very happy and very tired. I felt, ‘This is great. Today I got really lucky.’
Reporter: "What does the win mean for the film?"
"I think it means more exposition so, of course this doesn’t change the film a bit, but it gets you the possibility of people getting interested by the film in a more bigger way."
Reporter: "How will you be celebrating tonight?"
Gomes: "I am always improvising."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Payal Kapadia, writer, director of ‘All We Imagine is Light’ – on what comes next after winning the Grand Prix award:
"That’s a tough question. I actually don’t know. As of today, my mind is completely blank. So."
Reporter: "And how is it to have everyone here together and you all celebrated together?"
Kapadia: "That is actually the best, because I think when you work on a film, you, it’s a very long and close association. And people, we see each other at our best in the worst. And when you have relationships formed on the basis of that, they’re really strong relationships. So I think, it’s like having my family here and I’m really thrilled."
Reporter: And what do you think it means for the film to be recognized here tonight?"
Kapadia: "I think it’s going to be really wonderful for the film, and it’s going to have a life after this. And it’s not a film that I think, could be liked by everybody. So I think that having it here, maybe it’ll definitely get a lot more exposure and really a life that I couldn’t have imagined. So I’m really happy."
