Georgian parliament to overturn president’s veto of ‘foreign agents bill’ | DW News

A Georgian parliamentary committee is starting proceedings, to override a presidential veto of a controversial foreign agent’s law, that could restrict media freedom.

The law on foreign influence, introduced by the ruling Georgian Dream party, has triggered mass demonstrations in Tbilisi. Protestors fear the law could block the country’s efforts to join the EU.
