Back in 2016, when Whole Foods, the organic grocery chain that had been stung for years by a lot of snarky comments about its high prices began experimenting with smaller stores that specialize in cheaper private label groceries called 365 Buy Whole Foods Market. It was an effort to demonstrate that while the company wasn’t just for foodies willing to spend their, quote unquote, whole paycheck on premium products.
