STORYLINE:
At least 13 people were killed and 14 others were injured when a bus rolled down a cliffside road in Ayacucho, Peru.
Eliza Durand, a road police director, said the vehicle was traveling from the capital Lima to Ayacucho when the crash happened.
Police officials didn’t elaborate on the cause of the crash.
Highways and roads are precarious, and Peru has a lax vigilance over them.
Police reported that 3,100 people died in road accidents in 2023.
