STORYLINE:
Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan arrived at Elysee Palace on Monday and were welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
Xi was in France for a two-day state visit to open his European tour.
Xi’s visit marks the 60th anniversary of France-China diplomatic relations, and follows Macron’s trip to China in April 2023.
