"For him to come back and have this vision for me, of just this, like, sexy girl almost like in a men’s shirt tied up, getting out of the ocean, dripping, and onto the red carpet — and all wet. That’s our vibe. But, honestly, there was so much work. I mean a corset by Mr Pearl, and flying to Montreal for a five-hour fitting and then Paris for a five-hour fitting and then L.A.. It’s been about five or six five-hour fittings in a corset, getting used to what it feels like for this night."

Kardashian: "Oh, he loves it. I mean it was his idea to reach out to Mr. Mugler. The day we heard what the theme was, we reached out to the team and it’s been the best collaboration since."

STORYLINE:
Stars of film, fashion, music, sports, politics and social media will ascend the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6. As fashion’s biggest night approaches, The Associated Press looks back at some notable looks from previous years.
Kim Kardashian reportedly lost 16 pounds to fit into the bedazzled dress that Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962. The reality TV star appeared on the red carpet at the Met in 2022 with then boyfriend Pete Davidson.
Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen chose vintage Chanel for her appearance at the Met in 2023. The gown was the bridal look from Karl Lagerfeld’s spring/summer 2007 Chanel couture show, cut from white silk tulle and embroidered with vertical stripes of sequins. It was topped off with a long, flowing cape embellished with feathers.
