STORYLINE:
The UAE has seen more unusual weather as thunder storms and heavy rains lashed Dubai Thursday.
Residents were warned to stay at home ahead of the downpours, but those heading out were caught in traffic jams, while flights to and from the Emirate were disrupted as a number were cancelled.
An airport spokesperson said nine arrivals and four departure flights were affected.
Although Thursday’s rain did not cause major problems or
flooding, authorities sent warning messages the night before and took many precautions.
Flooding two weeks ago brought chaos to Dubai, with high water on major highways and Dubai International Airport.
