STORYLINE:
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told Ukrainian Prime Minister Thursday he will do all he can to get funding for Ukraine done.
Schumer’s meeting with Minister Deny Shmyhal comes as the House Republicans put for a package of bills that would send U.S. aid to Ukraine and Israel.
The aid package had been held up for months over Republican opposition to continuing wartime funding for Ukraine as it battles Russia.
The bulk of the $61 billion aid package for Ukraine would go to purchasing weapons and ammunitions from U.S. defense manufacturers
