Funeral for civil rights icon John Lewis held in Atlanta | DW News

US congressman and civil rights activist John Lewis has been laid to rest at a funeral in Atlanta, Georgia. He was buried in South View Cemetery, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is also buried. Former US presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton attended the service. President Donald Trump did not attend. Obama used his address to call for the defense of voting rights, an issue championed by John Lewis who died two weeks ago at the age of 80.
