Big tech fails to recognize African languages | DW News

As tech giants innovate across the world, Africa’s growing market remains largely left out of some technological advancements such as voice commands. Africans speak over 2,000 different languages, but even the most spoken, like Swahili, have not made it onto services such as Siri, Google Home and Alexa.
