"We want not to be the 51(st) state. But we can be a closest ally, just like Marshall Islands do with the US with the Pacific agreement."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Jørgen Boassen, fan of U.S. President Donald Trump:
"In defence areas and mining sections, we can be close, very close and (the) best ally and best partners with everything. I know, I think it will maybe, we will have more, 40% more money per person in Greenland if we (are) going to work with the US. Now in this space, almost 70% of people have not enough money to (last until) the end of the month. And if you go to Denmark, you can see the difference, how the difference is, or the salary from Danish and Greenlandic people, or also in (the) police department and in (the) justice department and the prison workers are different. We are second class people in our country, so we should become state and activate article 21.1 so we can negotiate with the process of being independent from Denmark. And then after we can try to negotiate with U.S with many things."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Jørgen Boassen, fan of U.S. President Donald Trump:
"(Trump) Said to one, not use military force to (on) Greenland, why should he do that? Because why should the U.S. use force and force us to make us American? I don’t believe that. Otherwise I might, I will be completely wrong if I think like that because it’s just making a scary scenario of the US, people use that from the political, politician right now to the election. Because many countries in the world want to work and have ties to (the) US right now because Donald Trump is president."
9. Close of hats
10. Close of White House coin that Boassen received
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Jørgen Boassen, fan of U.S. President Donald Trump:
"In 2008, when Barack Obama was into first time office, I have a hope. But with Hillary (Clinton) and Obama, everything went wrong. So there were many hot fires in the world, inflation was not good, the minority was not good. So and (inaudible) don’t trust the Democrats under Hillary. So when Trump ran for the office I looked at what was his political agenda and it was very good for me with many things. I was, I mean, it’s common sense."

STORYLINE:
Greenlanders have been pushed into the global spotlight in the weeks since U.S. President Donald Trump said America could take over their Arctic homeland.
Most say they don’t want to be American and many have been worried and overwhelmed by the comments and the attention.
But for Jørgen Boassen, who is one of the territory’s biggest Trump fans, he has welcomed closer ties with America hoping it would bring more money to local people.
Boassen, who has visited the White House and welcomed Donald Trump Jr. when he recently visited Nuuk, said he does not wish to be the "51st state" but believed working with the US would bring great benefits to Greenlanders.
"We are second class people in our country," said Boassen, wearing an "American badass" T-shirt as he spoke at his home.
