"For me the collection and the tanks and everything is about my personal work. I don’t have an opinion on global wars. I feel like as an artist I don’t pay attention to current politics, but to me it’s about my war within myself. And it’s in my little army, my little psychotic cardboard army. And it’s very personal for me. I have no kind of like, political opinion or that’s not part of my work or what I’m saying here. But but, you know, I have an idea and I want to, I have to entertain myself. You know what I mean? And I and I had this feeling with these cardboard tanks. I wanted these almost, like, decrepit kind of child-like, almost like Rauschenberg. Claes Oldenburg, as you know, primitive tanks, kind of like scraping across the floor."

"I couldn’t imagine using a fake fur. I’m not interested in plastic, homogenized fake versions of anything so real fur, real horse, real croc."

STORYLINE:
Enfants Riches Déprimés are still déprimés and still fashionable.
Designer Henri Levy presented his latest mixed gender modern Victoriana goth collection at a Paris high school Sunday.
The show was bookended at the beginning and the end by the dramatic entrance of almost life-sized cardboard tanks – the first carrying a steampunk DJ setting the beats for the show and the latter accompanying children carrying guns and toys. The spacious gym turned into a fashion runway was also adorned in artistic posters making references to Stalin’s life.
Levy said he wasn’t political in his themes but he did think carefully when he put the fashion, the set design and the music together.

I feel like as an artist I don’t pay attention to current politics, but to me it’s about my war within myself. And it’s in my little army, my little psychotic cardboard army," he said,

The models wore various incarnations of leisure class looks, but with a dark edge – a certain pale, sleepless demeanor. A high shouldered gown was made of black leather instead of cotton and lace, a satin robe was made urban cool, an embroidered grey sweater had the je ne sais quoi, a classic tuxedo livened up by a green bow tie, some lederhosen were a bit too tight and matched with a short cropped leather and super skinny scarf, one black leather mini dress had a chest cutout with only a mesh covering the breast while proudly wearing a belt with a Stalin picture buckle. It was grunge, it was rock ‘n’ roll. Thigh-high boots, the trend of the season, came in the waders model at ERD and real fur was also on the menu on several looks.
