Despite Donald Trump’s change of course in foreign policy, Bruno Kahl, President of the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND), is counting on continued cooperation with the USA: “At the moment, we can confidently continue our intelligence work for the time being.” At the same time, he appealed for it to be “a joint task of the West” to protect Ukraine from Russia.
“We very much hope that the Americans will soon be at our side again,” said Kahl in an interview with DW in his first public statement since the change in the White House.
