While policy uncertainty and its impact upon the economy has become an increasingly prominent theme over the past couple of weeks, markets get to kick it ‘old school’ over the next couple of days as Nvidia is set to report earnings after Wednesday’s close. In terms of moving P/Ls, the stock is clearly the most important one in the world, though naturally individual portfolios may have greater exposure elsewhere.
The options market is more worried about the impact of today’s release on the stock than at any other point since the announcement of ChatGPT in late 2022. While that may just reflect some of the recent sogginess in the stock, it could also embody some broader concerns about the trajectory of the AI theme and mega-cap tech in general.
Ivan Feinseth, Senior Partner and CIO at Tigress Financial Partners, breaks down Nvidia’s defining factors as a market giant and also discusses some of the lesser-known, but profitable names in the AI and data center space. Ivan speaks with Tom Keene and Paul Sweeney on Bloomberg Radio.
