The far-right Alternative for Germany party achieved its best result ever in Sunday’s election. Campaigning on an anti-immigration, anti-European Union platform the AfD came second, winning 20% of the vote. It’s now set to be the main opposition party – and that will mean a more prominent role for co-leader Alice Weidel. Matthew Moore has a closer look at the woman who’s become the public face of the far right.
