“Today, Foreign Minister (Sergey) Lavrov and Presidential Advisor Yuri Ushakov are flying to Riyadh on behalf of President Putin. They are expected to meet with their American counterparts in Riyadh on Tuesday, which will be devoted primarily to restoring the entire complex of Russian-American relations. It will also be devoted to preparing possible negotiations on a Ukrainian settlement and organizing a meeting between the two presidents.”

STORYLINE:
Top Russian officials will hold talks with US counterparts on restoring ties, Ukraine and preparing a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, the Kremlin said Monday.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Putin’s foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov will fly to the Saudi capital later in the day, to take part in talks set for Tuesday.
He said the dialogue will be primarily focused on “restoring the entire complex of US-Russia relations” as well as a possible Ukrainian settlement and the meeting of the two presidents.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is leading the US delegation to Saudi Arabia, which will also include Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and national security adviser Mike Waltz.
