STORYLINE:
Hundreds and thousands of Hindu devotees walked up Malaysia’s most sacred Hindu cave at the annual Thaipusam festival in Selangor, Malaysia.

Devotees climbed up the temple’s 272 steps early on Tuesday morning, as an act of devotion.

Many ethnic Indian Malaysians as well as tourists gather for this annual festival accompanied by traditional drum music.

Devotees pay homage to their deity, offering prayers and sacred offerings, while others pierce their bodies as a sign of their devotion.
