Central African Republic leader launches meme coin: What’s behind it? | DW News

Is it cryptocurrency or just a con? The Central African Republic has just issued a meme-coin with the country’s President himself praising the project on social media. Faustin-Archange Touadéra is following in the footsteps of other world leaders – specifically US President, Donald Trump, who also issued a meme coin, as did his wife, Melania.
