The German elections are around the corner – and there’s a lot of debate around what should be done to kickstart Germany’s ailing economy. Economists are looking at ‘creative destruction’ – an 80-year-old economic concept that says products and sectors must go away or disappear to make way for newer sectors. It’s one approach to bringing Europe’s largest economy back on track, as the nature of jobs is changing and layoffs from legacy companies like Volkswagen, Porsche and ThyssenKrupp have many here worried.
