2. SOUNDBITE (English) Christian Siriano, designer:
"I really wanted to kind of transport everybody into this dream kind of fantasy world. We all need that right now very much. And I think, you know, when we were, you know, kind of coming up with this collection in general, it has a lot of kind of automotive design elements that inspired the collection. And I felt like, ‘OK, well, for me, because I collected cars like my whole life, my dad really inspired that.’ And I was like, ‘who doesn’t love that iconic, sexy red car? But who doesn’t love that iconic, sexy red dress? And how do they kind of go together?’ And so I’m trying to take something that’s normally very masculine, which is car design and elements to make it feminine and glamorous and beautiful. I mean, the lines of a car to me look like the lines of a corset. And so that was the idea here."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Christian Siriano, designer:
"I think that automotive design world, we have like these beautiful jerseys that look like oil slicks. We have these gorgeous embroideries that kind of look like tire tracks, but in the most romantic way, laminated kind of cotton fabrics that are really cool, that look like leather, but are really from a natural fiber, which is really nice. And yeah, I think, I think the fabrics are really luxe, but feel like, I mean, even a few of them feel actually like almost like a iridescent mirrored paint job that you could have, you know, in a way. So that’s kind of what we wanted."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Christian Siriano, designer:
"I think for me, like, even today, like, I was like, ‘you know what? I just want to, like, make, you know, make a fantasy dream or I love making clothes.’ So, I mean, we have a lot of looks in this show, but that’s what I think people love and want to see. And I think, you know, that escapism is very important and that’s what I love doing. So I think that’s what keeps me going really honestly. And also the customers that are buying it season after season. And we love them. They support everything more than any anything more than any famous person in the world. The clients who buy the clothes are very important to me, which are always in my house at my show."
