STORYLINE:
China’s President Xi Jinping held a welcome ceremony for the visiting Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Thursday.
During the talks after the ceremony, Xi hailed the steady development of bilateral relations since their establishment more than three decades ago.
He also called on the two sides to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and strategic coordination.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation documents in the fields of justice, joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, economy and trade, media and other areas.
Hassanal will also join Xi at the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin on Friday.
