"Without a doubt, the most complicated is the Pokrovsk direction, and Kurakhove direction. The enemy is concentrating all its forces there, and it is where they are still capable of doing so. And I say ‘still’ because our soldiers are trying to push back the initiative they still hold there."

4. SOUNDBITE (Ukrainian) Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President:
"Since we’re talking about it, no, the Europeans are not enough. Because this is not just a matter of numbers, it is about sharing responsibility and ensuring security guarantees. This cannot be done without the United States of America. That would be a big mistake. It could be Russia’s desire for Europeans to defend and support Ukraine without the United States. That would be an advantage for Russia. And I believe that geopolitically and strategically, it could be their victory, which is why this must not happen."

STORYLINE:
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Pokrovsk remains the most “complicated” part of the frontline in the war with Russia, after meeting with the UK Foreign Minister on Wednesday in Kyiv.
President Zelenskyy told a news conference that Russia is amassing its forces there
The Ukrainian leader also stated that the presence of European troops would not be enough to prevent another Russian invasion, if such a decision were approved by partner countries.
“This is not just a matter of numbers, it is about sharing responsibility and ensuring security guarantees. This cannot be done without the United States of America,” he said.
While the option of sending foreign troops remains hypothetical, discussions are ongoing, Zelenskyy said.
